About the client

A large Asian electricity company, leader in the utilities sector. Our client operates in countries as diverse as the United Kingdom, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India and Indonesia among others. This client possesses 14.000 km of fiber optic cable network, being one of the largest Dynanet networks in the world.

Our Challenge

Organisational and client needs require a more robust solution in order to modernise and replace their old NMS, based on Nokia NMS-10 platform. The aim was to achieve efficiency through the replacement of its network management software. More features and implement future-proof technology was in order.

The Solution

The team began by designing a plan and migrating to a new SGRwin NMS system. The execution included database recovery and the inclusion of network information that was dispersed across different Excel files.

SGRwin is based on supported SW, also being compatible with current OS versions. Additionally, our network management system improves compliance, offering advanced incorporated reports.

The entire project was designed to reduce costs and 80% of the project was executed remotely (from Spain).

The keys for success were the in-depth knowledge of technology and a strong relationship with a local partner that played a crucial role in this project. Our partner made it easier to be in touch with the client, to monitor all changes, implement and provide support during totality of the project’s execution.

The final result

  • Successful migration to a new system.
  • + 6000 nodes managed by SGRwin.
  • OPEX and CAPEX reducing.
  • Systems consolidation.
  • Reducing the management from 9 NMS to just 2 NMS.
  • Increased control of the network bettering IT compliance.
  • Numerous features available.
